Youth
Faith Study
During the school year, we have our own Faith Study for youth
grades 6-9 on Sundays at 12:15 p.m. On the first Sunday
each month, our parents join Julia Corbett for a Bible study.
May 16 was our final study for the school year. We will resume
again on September 12th. Yeah Reid and Torie who were confirmed
on May 23!
Calling All 5th- 8th Graders to Acolyte
Service!
At Calvary, once you reach the 5th
grade, you are able to serve in worship as an Acolyte. Acolytes
are a very important part of the worship service, lighting
candles and assisting in other ways. For more information
on our Acolyte program, contact the
church
office.
Confirmation Instruction
Confirmation is the Affirmation of our Baptism, that is,
teaching about God's saving in Jesus Christ. Our Confirmation
class is a three-year program beginning in 6th Grade.
Instruction consists of youth group on Sundays at 12:15 p.m. in
the Social Hall, as well as retreats throughout the year.
Every Second Sunday, our parents have their own special Bible
Study with Julia Corbett. We began our year on Rally Day,
September 13. We also participate in social activities, service projects, and
worship in addition to our own daily personal prayers and
devotions. If you
have a youth this age, we would like to give you more
information on our
Confirmation program. In 2010, we celebrated Confirmation on
May 23. We will begin Confirmation instruction again on
September 12. Parents, please attend on September 12th with your
Confirmation-aged youth.

Faith Lens,
a free online weekly Bible study for youth can do just that.
This Bible study is presented by our synod (ELCA) and is
designed for senior-high age youth but is adaptable for young
adults and adult groups. You will find a current news story and
related discussion questions that corresponds to the lessons
discussed in worship (following the Lectionary).
