Nursery Substitute
Would you be willing to occasionally serve as a substitute
caregiver in Calvary’s nursery on Sunday mornings? Contact the
church office.
Calvary Care Connection One
of the functions of the Calvary Care Connection is to make
personal connections between those with a need and finding help
on a short-term basis. It may be a home maintenance task, a meal
for someone following illness or surgery, transportation, or
making a phone call to check on someone. If you would like to
serve others, this team would love your help. Next meeting is
April 15 at 10:00 a.m. in the Social Hall.
Discovering My Gifts
You have an opportunity to discover the specific
gifts that God has given to you in a fun, informative way.

Memorial/Funeral Reception Team
The Memorial/Funeral Reception Team are asking members of
Calvary to participate in their ministry. They provide food
(cookies, bars, sweet breads, open-faced sandwiches, etc.) for
receptions following memorial services.
They keep a roster of people who are willing to help
with these receptions on an occasional basis, when called.
Here are some ways you can help:

Women’s Spring Retreat Date Set
April 30—May 2
Seabeck Retreat and Conference Center on Hood Canal.
Cost: $145
You are invited to participate in our Annual Spring Women's
Retreat. Our theme this year is "THE FRIENDSHIP OF WOMEN: In the
Bible and in Our Own Lives, based upon a book by Joan Chittister.
The retreat begins on Friday evening, April 30 and continues
until 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 1.
Plan now to take advantage of
this special opportunity to:
-
get away from the demands of every
day,
-
dedicate some time to spend with God
-
find renewal and refreshment for
your body, mind and spirit as we meet together to explore some
qualities present in friendships between women-- those in the
Bible and those in our own lives--and envision how those
relationships can enrich us and others
-
enjoy the beautiful Seabeck
Conference Center on Hood Canal--during free time, stroll the
paved walkways, hike the trails, read the headstones at an old
cemetery (if we can find it,) walk the on the beach, play a
game, take a nap
-
eat in a beautiful dining room,
enjoying delicious food prepared by others and then walk out,
leaving the dish washing to them
-
revel in the fellowship and deepen
friendships with other women
-
praise God in intimate worship
settings
Registration
forms are available in the church lobbies. Invite your friends,
your sisters, your favorite cousin, your mom(s), your adult
daughters. All women are welcome. The cost is $145, which
includes six meals, rooms with bedding and towels provided (3 to
a room; each room has private bath,) and retreat materials.
Registration fees are, unfortunately, unrefundable, because the
church is liable for all the reserved spots, whether or not they
are filled. We need to give our count to Seabeck by March 30, so
we are asking registrations be turned in to Liz Caley in the
church office no later than Sunday, March 28. Although we like
to get the full $145 with the registration, only about 1/2 of
that ($75) is required, with the balance due upon arrival at the
retreat. Some scholarship money is available, so if you need
help, let Liz know. Car pools will be arranged.

registration form.

Please bring all your knitting and crocheting supplies, along
with shawls-in-progress and completed shawls. We will stitch,
talk and snack as we work on our projects.
We invite all knitters and crocheters to join us at this
meeting. We are now making shawls, lap blankets and scarves as
we pray for their recipients, and our patterns are on a
beginner’s level.
Come join us. Please email
Deanna Kaasa if you have any questions about our ministry.
